Public comments are needed on Indiana’s Waiver Request regarding the inclusion of all Indiana high school diplomas in graduation rate calculations.
The Indiana Department of Education is seeking a waiver from the federal definition that precludes students who obtain a general diploma from being counted in state graduation rates.
IDOE is seeking comments regarding this request.
Comments must be received by Dec. 2. to be included in Indiana’s waiver request.
As The Arc of Greater Indianapolis, Noble urges families, professionals and people with disabilities to submit comments in support of this waiver request. Students with disabilities who earn a general diploma should be counted in graduation rates.
