The program offers comprehensive training designed to equip coaches “with the skills they need to make a profound & lasting impact” on thousands of athletes in Indiana.

“With more than 19,000 athletes across the state engaged with Special Olympics Indiana, we urgently need dedicated coaches to support these aspiring individuals,” Special Olympics Indiana CEO Jeff Mohler said in a news release. “Our coaches are the heart of our organization, providing essential guidance, encouragement, and expertise that enable our athletes to thrive.”

The organization said the need for coaches is “greater than ever,” especially as the number of Special Olympics athletes continues to grow.

Individuals from all backgrounds and all parts of the state are invited to become part of the organization’s coaching team.

“We are reaching out to those who may not yet realize the profound impact they can have as coaches,” Mohler said. “This is a chance to contribute to the development of our athletes, not just in their athletic pursuits but in their confidence and overall well-being.”
