People with disabilities aren't "special--they're humanOur needs aren’t “special.”

They’re just human needs–ones that we all have. Like the need to learn. To have friends. To earn a living at a job we love.

People often refer to children and adults with disabilities as having “special” needs, and they say it with the best of intentions.

However, many people with disabilities like Down syndrome and autism really don’t like that term.

According to this video, there’s nothing “special” about having a disability.

Instead, they use some funny examples to show you why you should think of them like everybody else: as people with the universal need for love, friendship and independence.

There’s nothing “special” about that.
