29 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed because of the determination and hard work of people like you.
The ADA has helped transform our country:
- Fighting Discrimination
- Creating Job Opportunities
- Improving Communications
- Making Transportation More Accessible
- Changing The Way The World Includes People With Disabilities.
Of course, the ADA was only possible because of people like you: people with disabilities, families, and allies telling their stories.
We have come far in the last 29 years, but we still have a long way to go to achieve full participation and inclusion of people with disabilities.
From Medicaid to Supplemental Security Income and more, Congress still needs to hear YOUR stories about the services that support people with disabilities to fully participate in our community.
Recently, The Arc of Massachusetts went to Capitol Hill to meet with their Members of Congress. Check out this video about their day.
