Dear families and caregivers,
I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones doing well and staying healthy. It has been a trying time for all of us, and while it is certainly not over yet, I know that we will all emerge from this stronger as a community.
I wanted to take this opportunity to touch base with you about our plans to reopen Noble services in phases. We are laying this groundwork in consultation with the Governor, the CDC, the Indiana State Department of Health and the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services. Of course, our commitment to the health and well-being of you and your loved ones remains our top priority as we move forward.
As you may know, some of our services have continued during this COVID-19 pandemic, albeit in different forms. We have utilized technology to provide remote programming where possible, and have done our best to remain in contact with the individuals, families and caregivers of those we serve to ensure that their needs were being met.
That said, as great as technology can be—and will continue to be for some services for a while yet—offering in-person services is usually the best option when possible. To that end, we have spent the last several weeks having our staff undergo online training on best practices. Beginning Monday, May 18, they will return to our locations for on-site training on the many health and safety protocols we are implementing in preparation for day services to begin resuming in phases on June 1.
I encourage you to take a moment to read through three short planning documents we have posted on our website:
- COVID-19: Roadmap to Reopening Services
- COVID-19 Roadmap: Employee Guidelines
- COVID-19 Roadmap: General Guidelines
Of course, you will need to determine what is best for your loved ones, but our hope is that this information will provide some reassurance that we are taking every precaution to make our services as safe as possible. We also will continue to monitor the situation, and so we may have to change things as we go along.
If you have any questions, concerns or thoughts to share, please email me or give me a call at 317-375-2700. On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, let me say how much we miss your loved ones and look forward to seeing them again soon!
Sincerely,
Julia Huffman, President and CEO
